RELAY FOR LIFE NAPA VALLEY 2012
The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is a life-changing event that gives everyone in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease. Since cancer never sleeps, teams of people camp out at the Napa Valley College and take turns walking or running around their track. Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event.
In 2009 Bikini Bootcampers decided to fight back and get involved to find the end to Cancer. Many of our Bootcampers have either had cancer or have had friends and family who have survived or passed away from this disease. Three months before our event we organized car washes, a garage sale, a Blush trunk show and collected donations from family and friends. It was very exciting to watch all the girls come together and raise money for such a worthy cause.
We ended up exceeding our goal of $10,000 and raising $14,500!!!
On the day of Relay we set up our tents and decorated them with miniature bikini's with people's faces that have either survived or passed from Cancer. We assigned a bootcamper to walk around the track for the entire 24 hours. Some walked as many as 30 miles! Great way to burn calories!
