3rd Annual NapaFit Race For Education
Sunday, May 19th
Race begins 4 pm | Festival 5-8 pm

ARRIVAL & PARKING
Race Participants and Spectators who are arriving prior to 4:00 should plan to park in the upper parking lot, near the pool/gymnasium/theater. This lot will close just before 4:00 to accommodate the ongoing race. Festival attendees who are arriving after 4:00 will need to park in the lower parking lot, near the baseball fields (enter near the duck pond). Parking on the college campus is free that day.

DAY-OF REGISTRATION AND BIB PICK UP
Festival Registration begins at 2:30 (no race registration the day of the event). To pick up your race bib and timing chip, see us in the registration area, located on the south side of the field. Festival registration will close when tickets are sold out, so arrive on time.
* There will be no bib pick up prior to race day.

BRING CASH
The registration area will accept cash or check. No Credit Cards! Food trucks will accept cash, and some may accept check or credit card, but please be prepared to pay cash for all purchases throughout the evening.

THE RACE
Both the 5k and 10k courses will begin and end on the college campus. The 10k course will loop the 5k course twice. There will be two water stations along the course. Remember that it will be hot and the race is in the afternoon, so be sure to hydrate throughout the day and wear cool, comfortable clothes.

POST-RACE GOODIES
T-Shirts - available for pick up after the race, in the registration area. Please note that due to the overwhelming response we have had this week, t-shirts are available until they are gone. We have ordered extras, but please plan to pick up your shirt immediately after you finish the race.
Water Bottles - Each race participant and festival attendee will be given one complimentary water bottle. We will have refilling stations should you need additional water, and food trucks will have water for purchase.
Re-Fueling Snacks - a variety of items, such as Clif Bars and Power Gels, have been donated. Available on a first come, first served basis.

FESTIVAL
Bring Your ID! If you are 21 or over and plan on wine tasting, you must bring a valid ID.
Bring Cash! Did we mention you must bring cash in order to make purchases throughout the evening.
Do NOT bring pets, or outside food & drink.
NO large bags allowed. You will be allowed re-entry, so please keep large items in your car.
Low back chairs and blankets are okay. We want you to settle in and enjoy the fun!

OTHER REMINDERS
Weather - we expect it to be a sunny 85 degrees. Please plan accordingly and don't forget sunblock, hats, etc. And while out on the course, take it easy. It's not, well, it is a race, but still, take it easy!

3RD ANNUAL NAPAFIT RACE FOR EDUCATION will be the EVENING of May 19, 2013.

The 3rd Annual Race for Education, Powered by Napafit and the Napa Valley Education Foundation, will take place on May 19th, 2013 at the Napa Valley College Campus. Plans are underway to make this event another well-attended festive fundraiser that helps benefit our local public schools, teachers and students....our community! We have lined up the well-known Bay Area Band, WonderBread Five, to entertain at the post race festivities as well as food and beverages galore for families to enjoy on a Sunday evening.

We have been fortunate to have a great number of local businesses step forward the last two years to help sponsor the event and the time has come again to begin our campaign to help make this race happen. With the addition of post race festivities, businesses will be given more exposure throughout the event and beyond. Flyers, banners, radio, newspaper, other local media outlets and our website are all included in our marketing campaign. We have had participants from all over the Bay Area and even from out of state, with most of the runners being from our own backyard. Please see the sponsorship outline included in this packet and consider helping out this year.

The Napa Valley Education Foundation has a long history of supporting our local public schools through their Teacher Grant Program. Over a million dollars in grants have been awarded and every school in the NVUSD has benefitted from the program. The proceeds from the race go to support the NVEF Teacher Grant Program, which supports our students by giving teachers the tools they need to teach. From science lab materials to Music and PE curriculum support, the grants have been well utilized by several teachers and students. With the budget cuts hitting our classrooms in devastating numbers, the NVEF needs your help more than ever to help make success happen in the classrooms. Visit us on facebook!
